Barbara Rowse

I was born in Liverpool, Merseyside on 3rd October 1963, lived in South Wales for 7 years from 2002 - 2009, when I moved to my current location in Stafford. I'm exploring various styles/genres and techniques of oil painting. This includes (so far): Contemporary modern, abstract, realism, impressionist, romantic, landscape, and neo-stoicism.

The latter is a personal style of work that I'm developing - I'm producing art that has an underlying comment, story or philosophical question.

My interests include paralinguistics, philosophy, antiquity, law, cosmology, emerging science, creed, spirituality and the resulting impact on our fundamental values and appreciation in individual modern lives and society generally.

I was diagnosed with a processing 'difference' in 2009. I've been researching the subject since and found I'm particularly interested in visual spatial awareness, cognitive abilities, and the various issues faced by the uniquely gifted (2e) and how these could be affectively utilised expressively in artistic terms. As a result of this processing difference I'm also an exponent of Ariadne's thread logic.
