Carolyn Caldwell

Carolyn Caldwell is an American artist who has lived many places in the world. She obtained degrees in art and architecture and worked as an architect for many years while painting in her spare time. She has been a full time painter for over 20 years.
Travel has influenced her work allowing her to see the universal and unique aspects of a landscape simultaneously. Working with several different mediums, oil, pastel, wax, acrylic, she distills and extracts the essence of a subject, conveying a mood of serenity and calm. Drawing from memory she conjurs up remembered landscapes and plays with layers, colors and light until the emotion is there on the canvas for others to experience.
