About Christa Ledding

I live and work as an artist and graphic designer in Vancouver B.C., Canada. I'm inspired by emotion and experience, the subconscious, spirituality, the beauty and importance of the natural world and our connection with this world. I enjoy painting vast, expansive landscapes, faces and figures. I usually work in oil paints, but on occasion will work in graphite, charcoal or coloured pencils. My work often uses bold contrast of light and shadow, and emphasis, exaggeration or distortion of certain elements to direct focus. Early sources of inspiration include works by the Group of Seven, Emily Carr, Georgia O'Keeffe, André Derain and Gustav Klimt.
