David Esquivel

My name is David Esquivel. Born in 1994, from Aurora, IL.

My work has always been about time, about what was here at the beginning. A wide variety of elements coalesced and continue to live together harmoniously in these very different worlds. Those relationships are the heart of my work. It's the same with us as humans living together amongst each other and with everything else in the universe. I like keeping the individuality of each objects/body while allowing them to interact freely with the others. Making work that people can feel the bonds between the subjects in the paintings even while they are sometimes very distant from each other, hopefully feel the love that holds the balance of nature together. I aim to invite the viewer, not just to look upon the elements, but to float throughout the world that is the painting. With that, allowing the viewers to understand the magnitude and fragility of it all. My compositions have turned into landscapes over time but I still treat them as if I'm balancing relationships that have formed and remained over all this time.
