Felix Blesch

Felix S. N. Blesch was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her earliest memories of making art are of watercoloring underwater seascapes alone at the kitchen table. She believes, as a child, she felt most artistically free when painting what lived beneath the surface, because so much of the ocean remains little discovered to humans. A graduate of Nathan Hale High School, a student of Tulsa Community College, and most recently, the University of Oklahoma, Felix desires to complete a degree in Fine Arts to pursue a career encouraging and cultivating lifelong creativity in others. As a film photographer, she is concerned with hoisting her images high above happenstance, specific people, places, and time. Through her images she seeks to portray portions of things unseen, and bring to fruition ideas independent of tangible reality. She is fascinated by colors, chemicals, process, and the dualism of life. In her photographs and mixed media works she addresses good and evil, the scientific and the supernatural, organization and spontaneity, simplicity, complexity, and the commonplace and mythical side-by-side.
