Fumiaki Odajima

Japanese, Born 1978, Tokyo/ Lives and works in Amami Oshima, Japan

Fumiaki Odajima used to present a mini-landscape of video, sound art, low-tech kinetic sculpture, office-supply readymades, and watercolors.
Recent his works are digitally painted. He assembles colorful, optical, dim, translucent, geometrical, vivid, luminous image on the computer.

He studied at Musashino Art University in Japan, received his BFA from The Ohio State University, and his MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, and shows at Gallery A (Richmond, VA), Flat Heiwa & The Art Plant in Tokyo as well as Light As Medium (University of Wisconsin), & Stevenson Blanche Gallery (CA). At present he lives with his wife and daughter in the southern most archipelago of Japan, on the tropical island of Amamioshima.
