Artist statement
When I paint, I use big bold color, vibrant and dark to convey opposing emotions. Emotions of gratitude of the beauty around me that brings me contentment and joy. As well as emotions of trauma and frustration. My paintings express the opposing sides we all must struggle to control on a daily basis. To have gratitude despite our suffering.
I am a self taught artist. I love color. I have not always been so comfortable with color though. After addressing trauma and taking the time to heal, I felt at peace. I became happy with who I have become. I became confident in myself something I had not felt before. I of course still feel insecure and work on those emotions. Painting does that for me. I make artwork that balances between where I am and my future hopes. My goals for the future are to keep growing. Ill never be done growing. I hope to enjoy and have gratitude for every step of this journey we call life.
