Pierluigi Manciniart

Pierluigi Manciniart is the artist name of Pierluigi Mancini (born in Rome, Italy).

Pierluigi primarily designs and creates sculptures in Japan and Italy. He expresses his art through geometric, surrealist, and abstract shapes, using mainly metals such as iron, brass, and bronze.

His inspiration and vision for his life's work come from nature —trees, stones, water, animals, clouds— and are portrayed in an abstract, stylized, and surrealist manner.

The city of Rome has given him significant influence during his life and still inspires Pierluigi today.

After graduating from technical design school, he traveled to numerous countries and lived in Australia for several years. During those years, Pierluigi worked with architects such as Dino Burattini and Guy Fuller Cook.

After his experience in Australia, he stayed in Japan and worked with Hokkaido Architect. These experiences have been inspirational for his future works. In recent years, he has lived, worked, sold, and exhibited his works in Japan, Italy, and the USA.

Throughout his life, Pierluigi has always enjoyed learning new techniques: art at Perugia’s Academy, ceramics in Rome, and courses in Shodou (the Japanese art of ink) in Japan.

In 2022 and 2023, in collaboration with Mitsuyo Makino, he created vase sculptures combining iron and glass, as well as abstract works of acrylic paint and iron.
