Parveen Kaur Thakur was born in Mumbai, India 1985. Her schooling is from Mumbai, after which she did her diploma in Fine Arts and Craft from Rachana Sansad, Mumbai, India. After her three-year diploma she went for her further studies to New Zealand. She graduated with Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts from Design and Arts College of New Zealand (Christchurch). She graduated with degree in Bachelors of Fine Art from Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design in Auckland, New Zealand.
Being a practicing artist, Parveen has explored many mediums. She has been working in the areas of drawing, painting, installation, sculpture, mix-media and ceramics. Parveen's work reflects a hidden narration, different situations, emotions, humor, responsibilities, frustration, love, anger and other aspects and day to-day acts that may be personal, political or social that encourages her to create artworks.
Parveen is a ceramic artist. Clay is a friendly medium, Parveen has been working with clay/ceramics past 6years and have transformed her drawings and conceptual ideas into ceramics. This variety has given her works a different dimension and interpretation making it one of its kind.

2010 - Advance Diploma in Fine Arts at Design an Arts College of New Zealand, Christchurch, New Zealand.
2009 – Three years Diploma in Fine arts in Academy of Fine Arts and Craft at Rachana Sansad College, Mumbai, India.
2006 - One year Diploma in Art & Craft Teacher's Training at MRICE (Mrs. Raj Institute of Contemporary Education), Mumbai, India.
