Vasco Torres

Vasco Torres has always been interested in art, in its forms and how it can represent reality through different prisms.

He entered the world of painting in the eighties and, today, art is still an important part of his daily life. Self-taught artist, in his early years he had a figurative style. Then, progressively, he
sought to learn from contemporary masters, through both practical and theoretical training. The teachings he gathered over the years influenced his style, with a progressive transformation towards abstract art.

His present artistic phase is characterized by a strong fusion of both, figurative and abstract styles. Vasco Torres participated in numerous individual and collective exhibitions. He is affiliated to several national and international art institutions and galleries.
His work is displayed throughout several national institutions, such as the Lisbon City Hall and the Torres Vedras City Hall.

Furthermore, he is present in private collections, in Portugal, Canada, France, Switzerland, and USA, as well as published
in books and catalogues. He is dedicated exclusively to painting, as a lifestyle, since 1998.
