Wendy B Jones

I was born in 1940 at Stanwix, Cumbria, into a family of artists. Since retiring from teaching in 1996 I have painted full-time, exhibiting mainly in the Midlands and North of the UK.I am fascinated by colour, and explore a variety of themes to interpret how I see and feel the world around me. Lately I have concentrated on inland and coastal landscapes in the North of the UK and northern France; I am told that my paintings have quite a strong abstract component.

I trained in Durham as a secondary teacher specialising in Art, spending my final year at Camberwell College of Art and gaining a distinction. I soon moved into primary education, becoming a head teacher and gaining a M.A., but continued to paint throughout my career.,
