The canvas to me is a friend, with who I am totally free, with whom I am "me". With my canvas I share my very special moments, feelings, desires, moments of sadness and despair, of longing, of needing, of missing, of enjoying and sharing my thoughts and interpretations of topics, close to my heart.
I don't paint pretty pictures. I paint what makes me feel pretty within. To me reaction to what is portrayed becomes more important and endearing than the technique. My paintings almost always make a personal statement. It may not always be a social topic, in fact rarely so.
I don't paint Dreams; I like to live in a real world.

Born and brought up in Goa Yolanda de Sousa Kammermeier holds a B.F.A.(painting) Degree from The University of Bombay.Yolanda's style of creating a ceramic like effect on canvas with relief and high gloss has become her trade mark She enjoys working in watercolours and linear drawing too .She selects her medium as per the feeling of the subject. Her works are in collections in India and abroad.

Nominated by the jury as ‘Most Impressive Painter’ at the International Art Camp at Hajdunanas Hungary in July 2013

Conferred with the State Cultural Award for outstanding contribution in Painting by the Government of Goa India for the Year 2010-11

Recipient of the NIVO Award at The 48th international Artists Camp organized by the International Artists Colony Hajdubozsermeny Hungary for the year 2011.

Awarded and Honoured along with 20 other Indian Artists for contribution to Painting by the Kalavart Nyas Ujjain Madhya Pradesh in 2013

She has travelled widely and has to her credit 22 solo and 80 group shows.
Her works have been showcased on invitation at Galeries in Montréal, Berlin,Bremen,NewYork,London,Hungary, Romania, Poland,Venice,Bologne,Korea,Moscow Tashkent and in most parts in India, including Mumbai Bangalore Delhi ,Hyderabad , Calcutta besides Goa.
