Diyan Anguelov

Artist, graphic designer, poet, man with a vision, inventor, perfectionist, a renaissance man.
Emblematic autor, whose creativity corresponds to modern-day tendencies in the art and literature. Influenced by Surrealism, Pop Art and Minimalism, the artist takes for its main themes everyday monologues, popular quotes and commonly accepted phrases, used as public communication. His watchwords, depicted in precise, sharply defined geometrical forms talk about the genesis of words. As Michael Fried argues that whenever a self-consciousness of viewing exists, absorption is compromised, and theatricality results.
Every piece of his art renders a portrait of a mind that has achieved emotional, intellectual, and artistic adulthood. Watching Diyan Anguelov's daily struggle to puzzle out his aesthetic philosophy, we get a sense of the great task that awaits him.

Graduated from the High School of Fine Arts "Dechko Uzunov" - Kazanlak, Design Department.
Lives and works in Varna, Bulgaria.
