Costanzo Idini was born in Sassari, Sardinia in 1962. He worked in Italy as an events photographer for 10 years before moving to Ireland in 1996, where he has worked for the last 12 years as a gallery technician, including 7 years in Temple Bar Gallery and Studios (the first 3 as a photographer and gallery technician, the following 4 years as technical manager) and 5 years as a freelance gallery technician in galleries such as IMMA, the Hugh Lane Gallery, the Douglas Hyde Gallery TCD and the Lab, to name a few. He is also the co-founder With Baingia Atonia Scanu of La Catedral Studios/The Back Loft, and has been running artists' studios since 1997.
He has travelled to South America : to Argentina and Brazil for six weeks in 2003 and to Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil for five months in 2007/2008 2010/2011. On that occasion he came into contact with the harsh social realities of street children and marginalised communities and became acquainted with community workers, which triggered his interest in documenting these issues and, if possible, drawing greater media attention to them.

La Mostra “I fotografi italiani per le terre del sisma” è solo una piccola parte dell’immenso lavoro di oltre 50 fotografi coordinati negli anni da Paolo Soriani, Andrea Rotili ed Emanuela Corazziari per il volume realizzato da MIdJ dedicato al progetto.
