Christine Averill-Green

Christine Averill-Green is an award winning artist whose stylistic range varies from representational to abstract.

She often combines the two styles by layering colors and textures to obtain interesting and bold images.

She states, "During the day, I enjoy painting still-lifes, capturing the natural light. When evening comes, I entertain myself by layering colors and textures to obtain interesting and often playful images. Sometimes, I combine the two styles. No matter which style I am painting in, I try to abide by the words of Monet, 'When you go out to paint, try to forget what objects you have before you....merely think here is a little blue square of blue, here an oblong of pink, here a streak of yellow and paint it just as it looks to you.'"

Ms Averill -Green’s work is included in private and corporate collections worldwide.

Christine Averill-Green is a resident of upstate New York. She received her B.A. in Art with a double minor in Music/Theatre from Russell Sage College, Troy, NY and her M.S. in Art Education from the College of Saint Rose, Albany,NY.
