Emre Emektar (b. 1980, Istanbul) is a Turkish artist working primarily through engraving and scratch techniques on aluminum composite panels and reflective cardboard. Trained under Prof. İsmail Avcı and graduated from the Art Education Department at Marmara University, Emektar has maintained his own studio since 2002.
His work explores tension between organic form and geometric structure — fluid, ribbon-like figures emerging from densely textured surfaces. Using needles and nails as his primary tools, he carves directly into metallic surfaces, creating works that shift with light and resist easy categorization.
Emektar performed with the Contemporary Ballet Dancers Group (2001–2007), an influence visible in the kinetic energy of his compositions. His practice has been shaped by years working with disabled students, whose perceptual richness continues to inform his visual language.
Selected exhibitions include Artconcept Antalya Art Fair (2025), DenizBank IAAF Istanbul Art Fair (2025), and solo exhibition "Belleğin Haritası" at Salon Gri, Samsun (2022).
