Mfundo Mthiyane

I am a South African born artist from Durban and currently based in Johannesburg. My medium of
work is paint and in my work I capture chaos and order.

I graduated with a Diploma in Multimedia Studies, through the Centre For Fine Art, Animation
and Design College, in Johannesburg. I have varied experience and knowledge in design, having
worked for few advertising agencies in Johannesburg.

In my work I try to capture chaos and order with figures in spaces; chaos representing the
struggles we as human beings go through and order denoting our resilience. These figures
look incomplete as an embodiment of us because we're also not complete but enough. The style of
painting is influenced by expressionism.
