ABOUT
EDUCATION

We wade through a continuous daily bombardment of politics, money, greed, fashion, the elite, the repressed, the horror of war, poverty, religious dogma, fear and strife. Our history is replete with conquests paid for with the high cost of loss and tragedy.

But the human experience is also the celebration of peace, love, prosperity, abundance, spiritual enlightenment and a sense of the common thread that weaves it's way though all of us. The possibilities of what may come and our ability to create a world of harmony and oneness is within our grasp if we choose to embrace it.

My intention as an artist is to expand my own awareness of the human experience by exploring the many possibilities that are always available. I do not have a particular focus or approach when I work, nor do I follow any particular criteria because I do not wish to restrict the creative process or the chance to discover new possibilities. As life is never static, I believe art to be fluid, moving and always transforming.

Painting & Illustration.

I graduated from the Clark University School at the Worcester Art Museum, Worcester, Massachusetts in 1983. Much of my training was in the gestalt principle of visual perception. The focus was on visual problem solving as opposed to the basic mechanics of drawing and painting. This encourages the student to “think” visually. The primary technique was collage which is an excellent means of demonstrating the concepts of the unified whole by requiring selected random pieces of materials to be assembled and construct something entirely new.
