I was born in Mysłowice Poland in 1976. Immigrated to Canada in 1982.
I studied painting at the Alberta College of Art and design in Calgary AB Canada and in 1999 I earned a bachelor of fine arts degree.
After finishing art school I was represented by a top notch art gallery in Edmonton AB Canada and in their sister gallery in Victoria BC Canada.
My subjects have included everyday objects elevated in a beautifully arranged still life composition. A bowl of apples, an arrangement of flowers, scattered fruit on a quilt. I’m greatly influenced by fabrics and the designs, color and texture of fabrics are often featured in my work.
I also paint macro floral paintings. I will take an image of a flower or multiple flowers and blow them up to a larger scale. These paintings are abstract when viewed up close, they are expressive, using thick applications of paint and bright colours.
I am also passionate about figurative painting and presenting the figure or a portrait of a person in a highly ornamental environment of flowers, fruit, fabrics, jewels and nature. These often are elevated by the application of a metallic leaf accent to act as another dimension, transforming the painting with every angle and lighting condition. This work is painted in acrylic on stretched canvas.
My artwork is part of many international collections. My art career spans over two decades.
