Xingwei Chen

Grown up in a village in Southwest China my dream during childhood was to become an artist. Since then I have dedicated my life to pursue that dream. My journey started from Sichuan Institute of Fine Arts, a renown academy where I graduated with a BA degree. I then went on creating my signature style through introducing the technique of Chinese painting into modern designs which won me a series of domestic and international awards. My paintings therefore endeavor to draw nourishment from both western techniques and quintessence of oriental brush work. Many of my artworks focused on the subjects such as flowers, birds, wildlife and landscapes that emphasized the individual expressions of free will and spiritual vitality. My works of art were high welcomed and were sold in galleries, art exhibitions and fairs. In 2002 I was invited to the United States as a visiting scholar.
