Franklin Viloria

A single piece of wire triggers the intrinsic weaving, the poise, energy, and movement I convey in my sculptures. The embodiment of emotion and stream of life starts to take shape and materializes in a sculptural piece that reflects the connection with each other and nature, transitioning through intense human feelings, from despair to the ecstasy of freedom. Adding the element of resin clay materializes the external stimulation for movement.

Franklin Viloria is a Florida- based Venezuelan Architect (1999), Artist (1982), and owner of ConceptoVilarq. He provides integrated project planning, from the conceptual design of space to construction and custom made furnishings, delivering a turnkey project.
He learned the skills of carpentry and blacksmithing, making him knowledgeable about the behavior of each material. His goal is creating the ideal complement for each space, unique to the client, enhancing their life story.
As a hobby, Franklin has always had a penchant for recycling. In 2016, he began his creative process, using different materials like galvanized steel wire, stainless steel, aluminum, wood, and resin to create sculptures.
In 2017 he left Venezuela and rode his motorcycle through South America, attending every possible artistic event in Colombia, Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. In 2018 he arrived in Louisville, Ky, moved to Chicago, where he achieved his technique with wire, epoxy clay, resin, and wood. The wire represents a transition, a thought, the fluidity within us, movement in its curved lines. The resin clay materializes the external stimulation, becoming a conscious awareness to act on our feelings.
