Fava Silva

Fava da Silva is from Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), lives and works in Buenos Aires (Argentina). In her work, she explores images that populate her memories and imagery related to her childhood, to the Brazilian social and political context and her trajectory as a woman and artist.

She studied art at the School of Visual Arts (NY), in Parque Lage (RJ), attended the painting studio of the artist Leonora Weissmann, in addition to a bachelor's and master's degree in the field of cinema.

Participated in individual and collective exhibitions at Galeria Camarones and Lanzallamas (Buenos Aires), Galeria NYC (New York), Casa Azeitona (Belo Horizonte), at Centro Cultural dos Correios (Juiz de For a and Niterói), Greenpoint Gallery (New York), among others. In 2018, she was awarded the Belo Horizonte Municipal Incentive for Culture with a prize to make the artistic residencies in Lisbon (Associação Cultural Zaratan) and in Buenos Aires (R.A.R.O).In 2014, her engravings were published in the Belgian magazine Actuel.
