Nazar Sarfan

My name is Sarfan Nazar. I am a Sri Lankan expatriate and artist based in Qatar. I work as a Landscape Architect here. I hail from a village called Irakkamam, which is a sprawling green haven, lush with trees and a beautiful lake. This explains my intimacy with nature and its beauty. My proximity to nature in its true essence is among the prime reasons that pushed me towards art. I am always entranced by the beauty of nature and its offerings. So much so that I sometimes just stand awestruck and wonder how beautiful the world around us is. At the age of five, I started using my imagination and tried replicating my thoughts on paper. And my love for art only grew from there. My preferred medium is oil paints on canvas with special focus on realism. I am inspired by the cultures of the world, and people in general who come from different backgrounds. My works are greatly influence by the pioneers of art and I truly believe that Art is a continuous learning journey.
