Schu (b. 1976, Germany) is a contemporary figurative artist working primarily in drawing, with a focus on wildlife subjects.
His practice is defined by formal reduction and a close attention to structure, light, and detail.
A central aspect of his work is a minimalist approach to composition, in which the background is reduced to a neutral space. This allows the subject to emerge with clarity and establishes a direct visual relationship between the animal and the viewer.
