Akira Inumaru

Akira Inumaru (born in Japan in 1984) has been living and working in France since 2008, after studying art in Tokyo. He also graduated from the École Supérieure d'Arts et de Design in Rouen in 2013.
Light has always been the center of Akira Inumaru's research.
For several years, he has been inviting sunlight into his work. Using a magnifying glass that allows him to concentrate the light, the sun's rays, he burns a part of the sheet of paper where he drew and under which he placed thin layers of colored paper. Thus, it is the sun that gives color to his creations. He called this process, which invites reflection on photosynthesis, solar distillation. Pictorial works echo this reflection.
