Thomas Butzlaff

Thomas Butzlaff (Tom) was born in west Germany in1960 and at the age of thirteen already knew he was an artist.

From 1980 to 1986 he studied fine arts at the University of Cologne. Thomas’s painting teacher was professor Toennis who was a student of Fritz Winter, a famous painter of the German informal. Thomas continues to develop his own style as a figurative and abstract artist, combining traditional techniques with coincidental happenings, thereby creating a colorful world of surreal beauty.
