Paul Harper

I am a British artist, born in London in 1974. I am Currently based in Lüneburg, Germany. After leaving the UK in 2005 I lived and worked in Zürich, Switzerland until 2019.

My current work explores the relationships between our everyday environment (architecture, digital media, etc.) and the history of (abstract) painting. I am concerned with how these different areas intersect, and the ways in which we inhabit, navigate, and experience both real and virtual spaces. My paintings incorporate elements of common structures, objects, and images, found in industrial, public, corporate or online spaces, environments which we pass by or through on a daily basis, either virtually or in reality.
