Doyeong Koh

Doyeong is a South Korean painter whose work explores the intersection of contemporary techniques and Korean aesthetic sensibility. With over 20 years of experience in South Korea, she has presented her work in numerous exhibitions and received several artistic awards.
Her background in art therapy also influences her approach: her works seek to evoke subtle emotional states and invite contemplation.

Now, she is developing her artistic practice in Europe, hoping that the visual language she offers can reach audiences beyond cultural boundaries.

Artist's Note

I still remember my grandmother's village in the countryside, where I spent
every school vacation. The warm smoke rising from kitchen chimneys, the
happy voices of children playing in the fields and mountains--these memories
stay with me. That is why nature--rivers, clouds, mountains, trees, and
rocks--often appears in my paintings.

I studied design in art school, but I later became a psychological counselor,
spending many years listening to people's stories. Over time, I realized that
words alone cannot truly heal a person completely. No matter how deep a
conversation is, words cannot change others.
