Struunt Javier Alarma

I am a visual artist who uses photography as a means of expression and wood as a living material. With over twenty-five years of experience, my work stems from a desire to reinterpret traditional objects —such as Asturian madreñas or Nordic clogs— recovered from flea markets and antique shops.

My creative process moves between documentation and transformation. I photograph these objects as I find them, but I also deconstruct them: I cut, rearrange, and rebuild each piece, creating contemporary sculptures that preserve the spirit of their origin. Each work is a dialogue between memory, form, and silence.
