Ana Popescu

I was born in Câmpulung Muscel, a small town at the foothills of the mountains, and since 2011 I have been living in Timișoara, Romania. I am an self-taught artist with a passion for both photography and literature.

My artistic practice revolves around personal narratives and the ways in which they can be revealed and shared with the public through visual arts. At the same time, I am drawn to capturing, through my camera, whatever instinctively stands out to me—whether for its beauty or its raw imperfection.

I am especially fascinated by subjects with a long history, and most of all I am captivated by the sense of mystery that lingers behind certain objects.

The exhibition “Heritage Up Close”, held at the Mansarda Gallery of the Faculty of Arts and Design. The event was part of the cultural program “At UVT, Culture is Capital”, included in “Timișoara 2023 – European Capital of Culture”.
