Karyn Stetz

As a process painter I am continually evolving how I approach my subject and incorporating new methods. Photographing my works as I proceed helps me view them from a new perspective and moves me forward in unexpected directions. I then manipulate the images or create a new painting, design, or installation. The overall process for me at this point becomes self-referential creating new work and processes. All of which lends to my quest to capture the brevity of a brilliant moment in a play of light by way of process, surface, and experimentation.
