Karen Mazzarella

Karen Mazzarella, a self-taught oil painter, is a native of High Point, North Carolina. She started painting at the age of 15 and had already won numerous local and regional awards in art by the time she graduated high school. At 18, she joined the Army as a linguist and in Germany she met the love of her life in the form of an Air Force Sergeant. Married at 22, she traveled all over the US with her husband, raised their daughter, and completed her BS in Sociology from Excelsior College, NY. Karen has participated in many group and solo shows and has won several awards of distinction including a Best of America award from the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. She has had works displayed in various galleries in Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, California, North Carolina, Missouri, and Minnesota. Her paintings and prints are collected throughout the US.

Karen and her husband, Chuck, live in Alexandria, Virginia.
