Han Koch

Born in 1939. Living and working in Lower Rhine, Germany.
HAN Koch does not imitate reality in his work, nor does he reduce its essence to geometric shapes, but roams freely in interspaces achieving a sophisticated mode of expression in his image making.
His painting is neither overly intellectual nor entirely emotionally driven. He speaks with an accessible voice, taking visual impressions and transforming them into a pictorial language.
His paintings do not require explanation. As you enter and experience them, they enable you to free up your own fantasies.

HAN Kochs new works, Quad-®-Art, employ a geometric style of construction to create a synthesis of design and fantasy. Despite their highly rational, design-based method, HAN leaves room for fantasy in the search for a form of creative innovation that arises from practical regularity.
The works in the series 20- are a variant art.
They allow, on a limited basis, an individual transformation.
