Lena Modigh

I moved away from Stockholm when I was about 19 years old. First stop New Zealand, working on a farm, then New York, working on various independent films, followed by London. I now divide my time between Stockholm and London shooting various projects and commissions

My Dad was a happy amateur, taking very close-up pictures of flowers, me, my brother and mother, and of trips that we made. Then about once every month we would have a slideshow, a bit like a movie night.

I try to let my pictures flourish and develop on the day of the shoot. This makes more sense to me than strategic planning. My aim is to keep things simple and allow outside influences to play a big part in the whole creative process.
