B. 1982, Toronto, Canada
A UK-based printmaker and artist educator, from Toronto, Canada. Trained in stone lithography, screenprint, etching and digital media, my work explores the notion of knowledge responsibility, the architecture of memory, and cross media exchanges.
My work explores the architecture of memory and knowledge responsibility. Knowledge responsibility examines the boundaries of tolerance and hatred, fear and respect, assimilation and self-censorship. The symbols by which cultures and religion communicate are as laden and layered as their texts. Visual syntaxonomy, multiplicity, and the simple but difficult ideas of sharing and tolerance are explored, at times with whimsy, and at other times, with the mandate to provoke.
I use symbols such as crosses, swastikes, mandalas, flowers such as the poppy and forms such as the prostrate person to examine iconoclastic migration between and outside of humanities.
