Adel Fahmi

My name is Adel. I was born in June 1952 in Egypt. I live in Belgium since 1975. I work as a dentist but i was drawing and painting since I was 4 years old. About 30 years ago i went to the art academy in Brugge Belgium for 4 years .this has changed my technique completely. We did many figurative studies and worked with different medias as oil and acryl . I always loved working with oil paint because it gives me the possibility of changing and modify my work as much as i like. Till couple of years ago I rediscovered pastel. Immediately I fell in love with this medium because it gave me the ability to modify and change my work and the ease of transport aswell the deep pure pigments. Now i only work with pastel soft pastel as sennelier and Rembrandt, hard pastels conte de paris and pastel pencils carbothello, carandache and pits. For papers i tried many kinds but I found that pastel mat is the best and sandpaper fine grit 1000 or 1200 is second best.
Art was always a hobby for me until recently i started to exploit it. Going to my pension hoping to become a full-time artist. I might have been a late starter but as they say here better late than never.
