Akbar Fanaie

At the age of 18, I began my study of this 5000 year old ancient technique of Persian Miniature painting while painting carpets at the Iran Carpet Painting Workshop in Isfahan, Iran. In my twenties, I was awarded 2nd place in the Iranian National Miniature Painting competition in Tehran. I have had numerous exhibitions in Tehran, Iran including the Iranian Scout Organization and the Iranian Handicrafts. In 2000, I began to teach Persian Miniature painting as well as regular painting classes in Tehran, Iran. After leaving Iran, I continued my painting while living in Turkey. Since immigrating to the USA in 2017 with my family, I now live and paint in Dallas, Texas. My hope is to resume teaching painting to children and adults in the Dallas area in the near future.

My only formal painting education was in high school at Isfahan, Iran.
