Alexandra Haas

In my interdisciplinary practice, I explore the tensions between nature, technology, and cultural codification with a critical eye on social norms and attributions. My starting point is material-based and combines handcraft, found objects, digital imagery, and sound. I am interested in hybrid forms—both aesthetically and conceptually—that renegotiate conventions of identity, the body, and the environment.

My choice of materials—used textiles, damaged plastics, and digital fragments—refers to themes such as sustainability, excess, and transformation. Handcraft plays a key role, not only as an aesthetic method but also as a bodily-political act.

I understand my practice as an organic process that moves between analog craftsmanship and digital experimentation—always with the aim of shifting the boundaries between biological, cultural, and virtual space.
