Alexis is a lifelong performer and fine artist. He started as a child actor and painter in the mountains of Northern Vermont. He has created works and apprenticed/studied with many inspiring creators of visual art, music, dance, performance, cinema, pottery, glassblowing, design, illusionism, leather, writing and language in Japan, New York City, Vermont, Kenya, Tanzania, France, Bulgaria, Italy, and Germany.
Childhood Fine Art/Painting, print making, intaglio, renaissance, impressionism, mosaic and sculpture teachers: Don Sinceri, Giovanni Guarcello, Lawrence Golden, William Darling, Mary Azarian, Peter Schumann.
Alexis has received sponsorship awards for studying and creating new works from the Freeman Foundation (Japanese Language & Cultural Exchange/Youth Diplomat, language, calligraphy, music, performance, martial arts), awards from St. Johnsbury Academy, National Endowment for the Arts, New England Drama Festival, Nolita Film Festival with Maggie Flanagan. He is also a recipient of a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council "Swing Space" grant for support of an interpretive installation and global communications-technology fine art project "MTL" in dialogue with the "Arab Spring" in 2010 on Governor's Island, NYC.
