About Alex Manea

Born and living in Bucharest, Romania,I began painting as a result of my self-destructive nature, and art came as salvation in my life. I am best known for my wide range of colorful painted imagery; figurative and abstract, with many different brushstrokes and used mediums.I usually give the false impression of childlike simplicity. My themes of choice are vast and vary from portraits to still life, abstract settings to scenes of everyday life and reinterpretations of famous paintings. Resonating with the Fauvism and Abstract Expressionism movements, my style is always changing and evolving. My works are in possession of private collectors, public personalities, hotels, restaurants and showrooms from Romania and worldwide. My motto is that a painting must give you a different feeling everyday. My philosophy is that art is everywhere and everyone can appreciate any piece of art. The world is in need of more art, not of more critics. Art doesn't need to be explained.
