Alice Padovani

Memory is the point of origin: collective, natural or personal.
To retrieve, to categorise, to fix the moment with a cut are acts of memory, hard struggles to control time, measured through artistic actions.
My work is an "atlas of wonder and melancholy", a visual diary of loss and retrieval, in which individual pieces try in vain to escape oblivion.
I dig into the beauty of the forms to regain the lost paradise, to find a life that faded away.
I look through the eyes of a child.
I feel with the heart of an old man.

Born in Modena in 1979, where she lives and works.
Earns a Master's Degree with honors in Philosophy and a Bachelor's Degree with honors in Visual Arts at the University of Bologna.
From 2000 to 2009 works as an actress and director's assistant for the Laminarie Theatre Company in Bologna. From 2005 to 2012 works as director and curator of events for Amigdala, association that operates in experimental theater and contemporary arts.
Since 2009 works for the Municipality of Modena as Graphic Designer.
Preferring drawing, installation and performance, as a visual artist takes part in several national and international solo and group exhibitions.
