About Alix Philippe

Born 1984, Alix Philippe is a Belgian figurative painter who lives and works in London. Philippe questions the notions of identity and uprooting. Familiar places and characters from her daily life and travels inspire her work. Her oil and acrylic paintings are compositions, bringing together people and landscapes into one scenery from entirely different origins. Removed from cultural and historical specificities, these scenes tell us stories without a beginning or an end.
