Anais Lera

I live and work in BRUSSELS, Belgium.

Somewhere between the infinitely large and the infinitely small, I travel amazed by our generous Earth. Her nature, rich, abundant and subtle, offers forms, colors and movements.

Like a scientific explorer, sampling and collecting, I use drawing as a tool for research, discovery and appropriation. Inspired by textures, shapes, colors and materials, I capture, trace, stylize and develop a large vocabulary of elements: plants, animals and minerals… I create intricate luxuriant colorful compositions, formed from the accumulation of meticulously detailed individual elements.

Each piece is an ecosystem cultivated with harmony. A quest for balance within an abundant universe, fluctuating, constantly moving and full of a complex diversity. I consider matter to be a combinative living architecture, superposed from microcosm to macrocosm, layer by layer, all constructed by forms, repetitions and interconnected movements.
