About Annette Böcker
I make drawings and photographs and have recently started to combine photography, image processing and drawing techniques in my work. I often work with Indian ink, as it offers clarity and transparence while displaying brilliant colours. By choosing mainly formal solutions, I try to develop forms that do not follow logical criteria, but are based only on subjective associations and formal parallels, which hopefully incite the viewer to make new personal associations. My work derives from my fascination with patterns and structures and my desire to break down every visual to its bare essentials. My inspiration for a piece is often a structure in nature, technology or architecture. I analyze, deconstruct and in a final step accentuate the essential structure of the visual.
