Ansis Butnors

The painting stimulates my spiritual growth, and, I hope the spiritual growth of other people too. For me it isn’t the delight about myself and the beauty, but the work, duty and responsibility. As in any profession there is a sucess and a failure, pleasure on the performance, fatigue, enforcement, enthusiasm, excitement, etc. My duty is to work on a regular basis, to use moments of inspiration, to concentrate for work, to think and not to be lazy. First of all I feel responsibility to myself - to develop myself, to use my knowledge and other resources, to say truth and not to feel affraid. And secondly – responsibility to others - if I am honest to myself, it means that I am honest towards the others, and they will get a benefit and stimulus to develop.

I am a graduate of Jana Rozentala Riga secondary art school (from 1989 to 1996). In 2009 I get a magister degree in Latvian Academy of Art.
