Arantxa Araujo is a Mexican choreographer and multidisciplinary artist based in NYC. Araujo is interested in how art changes the brain by allowing curated sensorimotor stimuli to create awareness. Araujo is applying Neuroscience principles to performance and art to allow audiences to access experiences and increase consciousness.
Araujo has worked with Ernesto Pujol, Edward Clark, Tyler Ashley, Mei Anne, Peta Coy, Nestor Jara, Violeta Picayo and Larissa VanRensselaer. Araujo's own work has been presented by Live Love Festival, Movement Research, Columbia University, Radiator Gallery, El Teatro de los Sentidos Residency, El Vicio and SITI Lab.
Araujo was awarded a full scholarship from Mexican Government Institution CONACYT and holds an MA in Motor Learning and Control from Teachers College, Columbia University. Araujo received her BA in Theater Studies Emerson College in Boston in 2007. Araujo is a certified yoga teacher under the instruction of Dharma Mittra (2010). She received maximum certification from London based- performer and yogi Edward Clark (Tripsichore) in 2012.
