All Things Grow Series

I started to paint this series of different views of Magnolia trees last Spring. A starting point was an invitation to donate an artwork for Maternity Hospital and a very personal, poetic relationship with two Magnolia trees growing near my new home. With the series of paintings came a range of questionings as well-about beauty, about painting the flowers, referring to art history, etc. At the end, I ask you and me an intriguing question: what's wrong with flowers?
