Minimalism

Minimalism came to prominence in the US in the 1960s, and is an abstract style characterized by simple geometric forms, a penchant for commercial materials, and an interest in systems and patterns. While practitioners as varied as Donald Judd and Yayoi Kusama took the movement in diverse directions, today’s artists continue to experiment with the style in bold new ways.
