100 Curators Collection

Naima Keith 9 Artworks curated by Naima Keith Assistant curator at Studio Museum Harlem Guest Curator

This collection is part of the 100 Curators 100 Days project.

  1. Maria Aparici
One thing is for certain, until now only a very few got away. It is clear that they know very little about painting. What I don’t understand is how these curators, have risen so high with their bad taste, and fallen so low. Online, there are thousands of much better artists who could have done a much better work. There are strictly too many mediators.

  3. jeanrobert p be'ffort DITTO: I concur with Maria Aperici...The Peter Principle @
work..."CURATORS tend to rise to their level of incompetence." In more formal parlance, the effect could be stated as: CURATORS tend to be given more authority until they cannot continue to work competently. Currently, now HalfWAY thru this arbitrary selection process to obscurity...

  4. Juliet Vles This curator speaks right to my heart and I'm listening with awe. Original collection, interesting work by Katharina Forster, intelligent and very well executed satire by JC Lechonan and although I do not usually like naive art, I think the work of Sibanda particularly touching. Chapeau bas Naima Keith!

  8. Patricia Kalil It looks great! If interested in forbidden subjects and taboos, please check Brazilian artist Fernando de La Rocque's work ( The artist plays with our prejudices. He has a new collection called "Blow Job - Work of Blowing" painted using cannabis smoke. La Rocque has other series called "Colonias" with beautiful erotic images; sculptures using "plastic found in nature" called "Pet Shop" and his work called "Golden Cockroaches".

  13. Marco Menato I agree with Maria A.'s comment. How on earth did you get a job? Did you take 5 minutes to pick randomly through the website using the keyword "over-thought and Africa"?

  28. Julien Porisse A very personal selection, that has a deep rooting in the American African and the psyche that goes from the Slave ships of the 18thC to the doorstep of the Whitehouse. The piece Melanin chronicles (Gates Jr) is powerful, because the book needs to be unlocked and some reading done...

  38. Hans Simtanda Caspersen Dear Curator,

I have been offered to join the A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery located in The New York Gallery Building in the middle of Manhattan, which is a great chance to get especially because I have not had luck with Danish galleries.

There is an acceptance fee of 2,000,- us dollars therefore I thought if you could check out my Saatchi portfolio and hopefully buy a painting, so i can afford to pay the admission fee. It would mean a lot!

Thank you in advance! Best wishes Hans
