  2. Hormazd Narielwalla Rebecca thanks for featuring two works of mine this week. Julien it's a delight always to see your work. Thanks for the compliments. I'm heavily inspired by Picasso and Matisse - especially his paper cuts. Talking about cutting paper - Bravo Susan for also using sewing patterns in your work, and putting your own unique appropriation to these beautiful mathematical drawings. You are very welcome to visit my studio should you ever cross the pond.

  3. Wolfgang Alt To complement Susan's and Hormazd's beautiful cut-outs I recommend every collector of Matisse or Classic Modernism to have a look at Charles Poros' cut-outs here on Saatchi Art! Don't be confused by the price - that is where we poor artists are today... before we make our way.

  4. Wolfgang Alt It gives me a good mood to look at Julien's joyful 'Les Demoiselles'!

How the group tries to keep all the things in balance. I immediately think about Picasso and how he fought long nights in his studio to somehow defeat Matisse's 'Le bonheur de vivre' by creating something brutal...
He needed to push triangles everywhere - like knives - to keep the composition together.

In Julien's paraphrase we are invited to see things dancing with light heart.

  5. Susan Washington Thank you so very much for featuring my new works in your collection Rebecca! I'm very honored. And Hormazd Narielwalla, you know I adore your work. Although I always thought I was so original using the pattern pieces, was thrilled when I saw yours and saw the history behind your work and your inspiration. I will be taking you up on your offer when I cross the pond sometime next year to attend my brother-in-laws wedding in London. I look forward to meeting you! Thank you!
